Description
"iManila" 204 is a strategy management board game created by a German designer, set during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines in 1821. Players take on the role of black market traders who accumulate wealth through maritime trade. The game supports 3 to 5 players and lasts approximately one hour. Its core mechanisms combine bidding, freight risk, and dice-based random events. Players bid for the position of port manager to gain decision-making power, arrange cargo loading onto three flat-bottomed ships, and set their starting positions. Each round, players deploy accomplices to areas such as cargo ships, ports, and pirates, using strategies to influence ship movements and distribute risks. Dice determine the progress of cargo ships; successful arrival in Manila increases the black market price of goods, while failure leads to ship damage or pirate raids. The game includes a unique CD interactive rulebook to help beginners get started and introduces economic systems such as insurance and loans. The game ends when the value of any cargo reaches 30 pesos, and the player with the highest total wealth wins.
